The entertainment industry has its Madonna, Sting, and Bono. Sports has Magic, Venus and Serena, Michael, Tiger. For those of us in planned giving, there’s Viken. Nearly everyone I know who works in planned giving has at least heard his name. He is the face of his product, like Colonel Sanders for KFC. He is the face that launched 300-plus planned giving web sites. When I think of Viken, I think of his innovative perspective and, of course, his personality. He wants us to re-think the ways we reach out to the individuals who support our organizations. The language we use. Viken also brings a colorful and direct approach to talking to us— about what we do right, what we do wrong (you’ll see he’s not afraid to show us what we do wrong) and how we can do better. Viken’s career spans nearly 20 years in development communications. In 1998, he co-founded VirtualGiving, Inc., which focused on how we use the Internet and is how most of us got to know him. Since then, he has also co-founded The Planned Giving Company. Together, the companies offer a full-range of excellent marketing services to the non-profit community. Ron Fleury |
Scheduling and FeesSchedulingOur standard session lasts 3 hours and can be scheduled to begin at 9 AM or at 1:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Please give us at least three weeks advance notice to schedule a presentation. Fees$1,750. If you are a smaller non-profit, feel free to invite your peers to share expenses. Travel expenses apply if traveling beyond a 50 miles radius. Please inquire. |
